Introduction:
Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, established in 2009 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is an institute of national importance as per the IIM Act 2017. IIM Rohtak is a benchmark for management education in India with a vision to become a global leader. IIM Rohtak stands at 12th rank as per the NIRF ranking for the year 2024.
Indian Institute of Management Rohtak is a premier institute of management education in India. The Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) of the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak is a full-time residential doctoral programme (Ph.D.) offered in various disciplines. The programme aims at:
1. Developing high-quality researchers and teachers for academic institutions in India and abroad.
2. Producing top-quality management experts and thinkers for business organizations, government, and society in India and abroad.

The participants are given a monthly stipend, waiver of tuition fees, contingency grant to attend international/national conferences and support for research visits to global partner institutions.

Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) at IIM Rohtak strives to incorporate the strengths of similar programmes at other IIMs and eminent institutions and has included specific innovative features as per the emerging needs. The DPM is in line with the vision of the institute to be a global leader in the creation and dissemination of knowledge in management and to be India’s future global learning center similar to the ancient Nalanda University.
Admission Process
The admission to DPM of IIM Rohtak is open to all Indian citizens, non-resident Indians, persons of Indian origin living abroad and other foreign citizens. Admission to the programme will be based on the academic qualifications, performance in the qualifying examination/tests, personal interviews and the work experience. The Doctoral programme in management is a full-time residential programme.
Basic Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should have at least one of the following qualifications:
• Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA; Bachelor degree with at least 55% marks and Qualifications of CA, ICWA or CS
• Bachelor degree with at least 55% marks and Qualifications of LLB degree
• MBBS degree holders with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA
• 4-years/ 8 Semesters Bachelor’s degree, with at least 6.0 CGPA or equivalent marks
• Five years Integrated Master’s Degree programme in any discipline, with at least 55% marks
Those who are in the final year of their Master\\s Programme are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme only provisionally if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar or Director of the university/institute that they have cleared first year and will be able to submit final year provisional mark sheet latest by September 30, 2025. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a pass certificate of master\\s degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the pass certificate is December 31, 2025. Please note that those candidates who have applied on the basis of their master’s degree will have to meet the minimum 55% marks criteria and submit the final degree mark sheet/pass certificate. Non-fulfilment of these conditions will automatically result in cancellation of the provisional admission.
Qualifying Examination
#A candidate fulfilling the basic eligibility criteria should have a valid test score (not older than five years from the closing date of application) in any of the following tests mentioned for the respective area:

# Candidates possessing PGDM/MBA of IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent will be eligible for interview process directly. Further, if they are selected, they will be exempted from first year PGP courses.
# Non-Resident Indians, persons of Indian origin and other foreign citizens should have a valid GMAT/GRE score of not older than five years from the closing date of application.
# Candidates with Master Degree or candidates with M.Phil. or candidates with Master Degree with thesis in the relevant discipline may directly appear for Research Aptitude Test (RAT) to be conducted by IIM Rohtak for shortlisting.
Research Aptitude Test (RAT)
IIM Rohtak RAT will test candidates on quantitative ability, verbal ability and research aptitude.
Personal Interview
The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The candidates will be assessed for their intellectual capabilities, research aptitude and interest in the management discipline.

Financial Assistance
The participants of the DPM will be given a stipend as mentioned below:
• Rs. 34,000 for the first two years and
• Rs. 40,000 after passing the second year
In addition to this, a merit scholarship (subject to satisfactory performance) of Rs. 10,000 per month in the second year and Rs. 15,000 per month in the third and fourth years is given to the deserving participants.
Contingency Grant
All the participants will receive a contingency grant of Rs. 2,50,000/- distributed across four years of the programme.
Financial Support for Conferences/Academic Exchange
The participants will be provided financial support for attending national and international conferences as well as for academic exchange visits to partner institutions as per the institute norms.
Hostel and Medical Facilities
The DPM of IIM Rohtak is a full-time residential programme and all the participants are required to stay on the campus. The existing medical facilities that are being used by other members of the Institute will be available to them.
Important
IIM Rohtak waives tuition fee for the participants who receive the monthly stipend. They are expected to pay admission offer acceptance fee, alumni association fee, and any other expenses and utility fee as specified by the Institute from time to time.
The participants who are admitted under the categories of non-resident Indians, persons of Indian origin living abroad and other foreign citizens will be required to pay the fees as specified by the Institute.
